Heavy Chest & O & The Mo announce a special show at Auckland Unitarian Church.
Music lovers are in for a sonic treat this April 23rd, with Heavy Chest and O & The Mo joining forces for a special co-headline show at the beautiful Auckland Unitarian Church.
With extremely limited capacity, this will be a rare chance to hear both acts up close in one of Auckland’s most iconic and atmospheric spaces. Settle into the warm acoustics and let the moonlight shine in on you through the stained glass of this century-old church. Don’t miss this opportunity to sit back and be transported while catching two of Aotearoa’s most exciting indie-artists who are turning heads on the global stage.
HEAVYCHEST is the music project of Aotearoa songwriter Andre Smith, founded in 2015. Since the release of his debut album PREHEAT in 2017, the project has taken many forms, shifting through different sounds and collaborations while remaining anchored in Smith’s songwriting. Currently performing solo, he presents intimate live shows alongside a steady output of self-produced music. In 2025 Smith was invited to undertake a music residency in the French Alps, where he created his latest record Ascend - a collection of songs blending introspective storytelling with indie-folk songwriting. The residency was followed by a run of shows across Europe and the UK, most recently supporting Mild Orange on an extensive tour, before returning home to Aotearoa ahead of another stint overseas later this year.
Returning to Auckland for the first time since supporting The Babe Rainbow last April, dreamy songwriting duo O & The Mo bring a stripped-back set of acoustic instrumentation, live looping and sampling. Emerging from Wellington, their sound sits between indie-dream pop, neo-psychedelia and cinematic folk. Fresh from touring Australia with Σtella, the duo will play songs from their 2025 album Make Way For The Sun - swooning with guitars, soft vocal harmonies and lo-fi drum machine rhythms which unfold into gently hypnotic, quietly transportive songs.
