Original Te Whanganui-a-Tara collective Rhombus Sound System are renowned for their South Pacific sound blending funk, soul, reggae, and electronic dub. With their signature wobbly bass, frenetic drum lines, and echoed synth, they will be laying down their original sound alongside new material.
Sound controllers Thomas and Koa are joined by longtime vocal collaborators Lisa Tomlins and Raashi Malik, alongside Zimbabwe-born TK Paradza, who features on the heavyweight tune Treat You So Right.
Established in 2001, Rhombus first made a splash with their award-winning debut album BASS PLAYER, featuring the iconic singles Clav Dub and Onward (Step it Up), and have continued to evolve while remaining masters of their distinctive and unique sound.
The night opens with a special performance from Taranaki's own Finn McColl of Bush Buds, before DJ Koa take things into the late hours with a closing DJ set.
