After years backing many artists and bands on the keys, Louis TM is now out to make his own mark on the musical landscape. Inspired by modern soul revival, classic soul cannon, R&B, funk and indie sounds, he brings his unique style of soul from Aotearoa New Zealand to the world.

Based in New Zealand’s cultural capital city Wellington for over 20 years, Louis TM is a pianist, keyboard player, vocalist & is a graduate of the NZ School of Music’s jazz program. Regularly performing in a variety of styles & ensembles with many thriving Wellington & New Zealand musicians all over the country. The past few years has seen Louis involved with a number of artists, bands & has performed & worked with many of the country’s top musicians. From performing with Ria Hall opening for L.A.B. to a 20,000 strong crowd to jamming with The California Honeydrops (USA) at Poneke’s own Rogue & Vagabond; performing with the elite of the Aotearoa music scene, there’s no setting too big or small.

Louis has performed at CUBA DUPA, Wellington Jazz Festival, opened the 2015 Jazz in Martinborough festival, Waiheke Jazz, Art & Music Festival, Toast Martinborough, many regional jazz clubs country-wide. He has also performed with New Zealand Jazz legend Rodger Fox and featured with the Rodger Fox Big Band along with Tony Lindsay (Santana), Ria Hall, Laughton Kora, Barnaby Weir and members of The Black Seeds, Troy Kingi, Lisa Tomlins and the Royal NZ Air Force Band to name but a few. Louis also performed with The Victory Dolls at the 70th anniversary of Blue Smoke Records performing the Pixie Williams & Ruru Karaitiana song Saddle Hill and had involvement in the 2020 documentary ‘Pixie’. Joining powerhouse Aotearoa vocalist Ria Hall’s band for a summer run of shows which saw opening for L.A.B at Mt. Smart Stadium to a sell out crowd and performing at WOMADeladie in Australia in 2023.

2024 saw the release of debut album ‘Shelter for a Broken Soul’ out on Diver Records and joining the latest cast of Aotearoa supergroup Fly My Pretties for the 2025 release of ‘Elemental’ on LOOP Recordings and recently performing at Homegrown 2026.
