New Zealand jazz guitarist, composer and producer, Alex Pipes, is a sonic artist providing a strong voice for the next generation of instrumental music.
A now familiar face on the Auckland music scene, Alex’s creative vision is built on infectious house and funk grooves, catchy hooks, and transcendent improvisation, with some tunes morphing into full-blown fusion displays of virtuosic ability, and even moody ambient soundscapes.
Join Alex Pipes at CJC as he leads his band through a set of unreleased music (plus a few crowd favourites), igniting the fuse as each composition takes off on an improvisational journey.
He is joined by a stellar line up of local musicians: Andrew Isdale, Miles Boermans, 'Wil Goodinson, and Elijah Whyte.
