DJ Vadim lands at The Stables for a rare and intimate Matakana session.
A true architect of underground global bass culture, Vadim has spent three decades moving between hip hop, dub, reggae, jungle, soul, broken beat and soundsystem music without ever sitting still long enough to be defined by one scene.
As a pioneering artist from the legendary Ninja Tune era and founder of Jazz Fudge, his influence runs deep through independent electronic music culture worldwide. From dusty boom bap and heavyweight dancehall through to soulful house, amapiano and low-slung bass pressure, Vadim’s sets are built on instinct, knowledge and serious record collection energy.
Over a career spanning more than 77 countries and 2500 performances, he has collaborated with names including DJ Krush, The Roots, Public Enemy, The Pharcyde, Kraftwerk, Morcheeba and Aotearoa's very own Fat Freddy’s Drop, while continuing to shape underground music through production, radio and global touring.
