We're making a film! To raise funds for our 3rd year film at Massey University, we're having a gig, featuring an acoustic set from Dillon Jo, Shayla King, and Ciorstiadh!
'Ew Chucky!' is a short thriller film set during a Halloween party, where Chucky must break into a flat, but things begin to turn when she finds something squirming on the ground.
We're raising funds to pay our actors, feed our crew, and dress our set (among other things).
Dillon Jo is performing an acoustic set for the fundraiser. Dillon Jo is the genre-defying project of Wellington-based artists Betty Smith and Georgie Levien. Dillon Jo built paths between the elements of dream pop, shoegaze, folk, alt rock, and indie pop to create their genre-defying sound they call “Dreamy Droppy Rock Pop”. They have made quite the stir in Te Whanganui-a-Tara recently, playing numerous shows around the motu.
Shayla King perfectly blends elements of alternative rock and indie pop music. Channelling inspiration from the likes of Jeff Buckley, Radiohead, and Big Thief, she creates an emotive and expressive environment for her listeners
Shayla has and impressive history in performance throughout NZ. She has played multiple gigs in Nelson since the age of 12, and made her Wellington debut at San Fran. She has many more experiences playing at shows such as the Kāpiti Strawberry Festival.
Ciorstiadh's music blends elements of pop and folk genres, often exploring themes of love, self-discovery, and personal growth. With a unique, soulful voice Ciorstiadh creates a connection with her audience through her music.
Over the years, Ciorstiadh has performed at various venues and festivals across Wellington, including intimate local gigs and larger events such as Kāpiti Classic for 2 years in a row and several consecutive years at The Kāpiti Strawberry Festival.
