The Undercurrent presents As Bambas Do Samba!
Vem sambar! Get ready to sing, dance and samba your way through an afternoon of infectious Brazilian grooves.
This vibrant all-female collective brings the joyful sounds of samba and samba rock to Wellington, with an upbeat, irresistible set that’s guaranteed to get toes tapping and bodies moving. Featuring Fabiola and Kitty on vocals and guitar, Adrianna on cavaquinho, Sandra on pandeiro, Geeta on tamborim, Jeanette on flute and tantan, and Sonya on trombone, the group creates a rich, rhythmic sound full of Brazilian swing.
Their repertoire celebrates the music of mulheres brasileiras — Brazilian female artists — while also exploring a wider selection of classic and contemporary samba and samba rock. Expect muita alegria, infectious rhythms, beautiful melodies and plenty of opportunities to join in.
