ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
Music Sucks is an indie rock band based in Whakatū/Nelson. It started in Dunedin in 2011 as Sam Wilkinson’s songwriting project and has featured a rotating cast of musicians ever since. The current lineup met at an open mic night mid-2025. Music Sucks has released two albums, Periscope Straws (2012) and Road Cone City (2018), plus various singles including Wack Job (2020), Grown Ups (2025), and Mr Brown (2026).
Ngaio is an indie folk songwriter from Whakatū/Nelson. She has been playing her songs extensively throughout the region in recent years and now has a band! So watch out.
