Some Distance invite you to celebrate the release of their sophomore E.P Waiting Rooms
w/ Support from
A Life Underground and Qualms
Auckland four-piece Some Distance return with their sophomore EP Waiting Rooms, out 23
October. Five songs that are loud, energetic and euphoric, blending pop punk, 2000s
post-hardcore and modern emo into something that feels celebratory. A sharp U-turn from
their previous releases and a strong statement about where they are heading.
The first single “QT,” out 18 September, is a love letter to the band itself. Four friends who’ve
been making music together in various forms for over 10 years. Today, juggling family
routines and hectic work schedules, but still finding time to squeeze in recording sessions
and obsess over the details. It will resonate with anyone who strives to create a joyful space
where there is “no fault, no fear.”
Nurturing these kinds of spaces is a key theme of Waiting Rooms, which explores protecting
what you love against the threat of loss: sick loved ones, mental health, your connections
and ultimately, what makes you feel alive. A body of work that is truly a labour of love.
Self-recorded and produced in Auckland, strictly without any AI intervention. For fans of

Far.
