Rob Joass, Hamish Graham, and Bill Hickman are our guests for Late Lounge in October. Expect big harmonies, high energy, caustic wit and great songs from this celebrated acoustic band. All ages welcome, with galleries, cafe, cash bar and MINE: The Dowse Shop open until 9pm.
Where the spirit of Johnny Cash meets the swagger of Keith Richards, Nick Bollinger
Rob (Bob) Joass, prolific songwriter, has performed all over the world and has had his songs recorded by artists in New Zealand, Canada, and Australia. Hamish (Hank) Graham is the academis of the trio, with a Bachelor of Music from Victoria University and a diverse musical history including medieval, swing, jug bands and his own cello pop trio. Bill (Billy) Hickman was a long haired screamer in his youth but he has toned this down a bit. He blends high energy with the acoustic textures and intimacy of alt-country, folk and blues in his songwriting and playing. All three are outstanding artists with a love of performing; friends who became a band. To date they have released three CDs: Songs About Drinkin' And Dyin', The Shot Band, and Askin For Trouble.
