Home Alone Music are pleased to announce a north island summer tour featuring two Wellington based duos French for Rabbits and Timothy Blackman + Only Child. They will be navigating their way down the country playing intimate shows in Auckland, Raglan, Rotorua and at the second annual Home Alone Music Christmas party in Wellington.
Dream-folk duo French for Rabbits released their nautically themed debut EP ‘Claimed by the Sea’ in March 2012 to praise from international blogs and friendly folk around the world. Their music is nostalgically redolent, casting spells of fortitude and fragility. Label mates and friends Timothy Blackman + Only Child will join them on tour. Timothy Blackman has performed his pensive, solitary songs around the world, releasing four albums in the process. Chelsie Crayford Preston will be joining him as Only Child adding pared back touches of piano and harmonies on the tour.
The shows promise to be intimate occasions featuring these two slightly oddball pairings.
In Auckland they will be joined by a third duo, Luckless. Luckless is the ever-morphing project of songwriter Ivy Rossiter. As a two-piece, drummer Logan Compain alternates between blasting out driving rhythms and playing with the lightest, sweetest touch, while Rossiter wrangles riffs from vintage guitars and sings over layers of loops and reverb.
