This is the second gig in the Old Hall Gigs series.
The event will take place on Saturday 13 July at the 60's wood panelled Dom Polski Hall in Newtown (pictured above).
- anarchic jazz band The Troubles will play a rambling set
- Ashleigh Young will read a selection of her prose
- the award-winning short film Ellen is Leaving will be screened
- in a nod to our Polish-themed location, Hollie Mason will present a new dance work set to Chopin's Nocturne in F Minor, performed live by pianist Nicole Ting.
It's byo plus cup. Starts 7:30 sharp, doors at 7pm. You can catch a #1 bus almost right to the door.
Old Hall Gigs is a brand new gig series which sees local musicians, artists, dancers and writers take over old halls in Wellington for eclectic variety nights of art and music.
The evenings will take place every two months in unfamiliar venues all over the city and will provide audiences with a chance to listen to music, art and literature in non-rowdy spaces, and also explore the variety of interesting halls dotted around the city.
