Relentless Auckland-based punk trio Die! Die! Die! will play an exclusive Auckland show, at Cassette Nine this November 1st, after returning from a 65-date world tour in support of their critically acclaimed fourth studio album Harmony.
Die! Die! Die!’s three month tour (yes, 65 dates in three months) extended from the UK, through Europe and finished up in Japan. Fans from everywhere (posting to you know, Facebook) hailed their shows as “the best they’ve been too in a long time”, making them “stupidly euphoric”. Imagine what they’ll be like in front of a home crowd.
The band released their fourth studio album, Harmony, in the middle of 2012. It marries Die! Die! Die!s later, more melodic work - akin to the work on Form - to the aggressiion and D.I.Y aesthetic of earlier record Promises, Promises and EP Locust Weeks. The result is a lilting album that at its most restrained - Seasons Revenge - is emotively captivating, and at its most aggressive captures the raucous, assaulting nature of their live performances.
