Reb Fountain may be New Zealand’s best-kept secret. California born, Reb & her family arrived by ship into Lyttleton harbour with only $100 in their pockets. She was aged 11.
After playing in bands in Dunedin & Christchurch (where she was Identified as “the best voice to come out of Christchurch in ten years” in the finals of Battle of the Bands), she headed overseas where she studied jazz singing in Seattle & lived in New York and London. Now based in Auckland, she released her first solo album Like Water in 2006 and her second, Holster in 2008 (which included 'January's Well' — a preliminary finalist in the 2008 APRA Silver Scrolls).
She’s kept on playing gigs as a solo artist & with her gang The Bandits, mesmerizing crowds with breathtaking vocals, soulful lyrics & melodic tunes.
She can also be seen & heard bringing a little magic to New Zealand’s hardest working band, The Eastern.
Renowned for their passionate live performances and outstanding musicianship Reb Fountain & The Bandits are worth every penny you toss into their hat as well as the bottle of whiskey you buy them after the show.
“Comparisons are usually odious, but this girl is far better than most commercial singer-songwriters. Her songs could sell millions. Her voice is at once fragile and potent, she looks like a star.” - Arthur Bean, The Package
One listen to Eden’s debut EP Crying Birds tells us we are listening to an old soul.
Eden Robert’s songs are driven by uplifting melodies, delivered with passion and conviction by a glittery voice, at times possessing a raw bluesy feel. The acoustic guitar is a constant in Eden’s songs – maintaining her intimate folk singer/songwriter style when other elements such as electronic drums, synth, and electric guitar are added. Amoungst other things she’s won the National Womans Musicianship Award SmokefreeRockquest 2011, Play It Strange Peace Song Award 2011 & the Stand Up Stand Out Instrumental Winner 2012.

Callum kinda plays a blues/folk noir which can be described as Nick Cave meets The Smiths in a dark alley where they conspire to kidnap Bob Dylan & move to New Zealand. However with each set punctuated with stories & banter with the audience that description is up for negotiation every night. Kinda.
