PRESS RELEASE:
For dedicated fans of any group, there is always one album or a group of albums that define that band’s legacy, and make up part of that fan’s musical DNA. For SPLINTERED IN HER HEAD, those iconic albums are The Cure’s early 1980s efforts, ‘Seventeen Seconds’, ‘Faith’ and ‘Pornography’.
The Cure have gone on to make many more richly textured and genre-defining albums, but for many fans, this “trilogy” stands as the musical high-point in the band’s career; a remarkable feat considering the age of the group at the time the albums were made. SPLINTERED IN HER HEAD endeavour to capture the beauty, melancholy and intensity of these albums in a live homage.
The Cure have of course played their own trilogies recently, but have never before performed these seminal records back-to-back live. It is an audacious and daunting task for any band, and SPLINTERED IN HER HEAD are in no doubt as to the reverence Cure fans have for the albums. Being such ardent disciples of The Cure, SPLINTERED IN HER HEAD understand the profound love fans have for the group’s music, and vow to perform with the devotion and passion both the songs and fans deserve.
