Save this date, Shake-'Ems fans. On Saturday, the 23rd of May, at The Rogue & Vagabond, The Wellington City Shake-'Em-On-Downers release their second album into the vast, lucrative expanse of the New Zealand swing music scene. It'll be just like releasing hungry carnivorous animals into a crowded street, but with more tears and bloodshed.
That's right, it's going to be an album release party all up in here. There's going to be saxophone solos that will melt your ear holes, trombone melodies that could make a wolverine purr, and a formidable band sound that will leave you breathless with excitement and sheer terror. As always there'll be beautiful beer, pizza, and more good vibes than you can shake a cat at down at the Rogue and Vagabond.
Our brand new album 'Live at Orange' will be available for sale on the night. Fresh off the back of a two week stint around the great southern continent, the album features a culmination of our hard work writing and perfecting our new tunes over the past couple of years. Recorded at Orange Studio in Christchurch, this album could be regarded as the perfect confluence of quality, competency, and lunacy.
Tickets are $5 on the door. For just a small entry fee you could help support a Wellington musician's life consuming tic tac addiction. There are no pre-sales. Get in early to be there earlier than the band starts.
