For the first time in NZ - Colossvs
We fail to feel the shackles that enchain us, even as they rend our flesh to bone.
We speak the sermons of the powerful as if they formed in our own mouths.
We are complacent, docile and apathetic towards an aeon of deception.
We accept the fiction of fools and the falsehoods of kings because the alternative is far more terrifying.
That we are alone, and that we are free.
UNHOLY.
-
Colossvs as it has come to be known was launched into the world with Unholy. Savage and relentless, various attempts have been made to classify the band’s immense sound. With influences ranging from Behemoth, Integrity, Dimmu Borgir, At The Gates, Converge, Satyricon, and Ringworm, the musical scope is set wide across the darker and extreme ends of metal and hardcore. A vicious attack on the church, Unholy is vividly satanic, drawing upon the pages of history to paint scenes of death and mental anguish, before peaking with a fantastical war between heaven and hell.
After completing a run of headlining album release shows, 2015 has already seen the band head out on national tours with death metal pioneers The Black Dahlia Murder and Psycroptic, Australian legends King Parrot and High Tension, as well as chaotic French acts Birds In Row and Calvaiire, in addition to landing support slots with death metal luminaries Goatwhore, Suffocation and Decapitated, plus fellow Australians Aversions Crown, Whitehorse, Whoretopsy, Ruins, and Hadal Maw. The band also embarked on their second tour of South East Asia in March, stopping by Thailand and Malaysia before arriving at Jakarta, Indonesia, for the Hammersonic international metal festival, alongside Lamb of God, Mayhem, Unearth, Vader, Warbringer, The Faceless and many more.
