Matterhorn & Strange Behaviour, in association with Thump, are excited to bring you BICEP – renown bloggers and tastemakers, and currently one of the most in demand DJ acts on the international scene – for their first ever show in Wellington!
BICEP [Feel My Bicep / AUS – UK] Thursday, 19 November, Matterhorn - Wellington
London based, Belfast-born blogger-production-DJ duo Matt McBriar and Andy Ferguson need little by way of introduction. Their 'Feel My Bicep blog is the go-to place for tastemakers world-wide. On a production tip, they’ve evolved from the raw garage-infused sound of early critically acclaimed tracks like $tripper and Vision of Love into a formidable creative force with recent releases Celeste and Dahlia. 2013 saw Bicep tour globally, including dates in North & South America, Australia, Asia and Dubai, with an especially busy summer, packed full of festivals, each event solidifying the duo’s growing reputation.
In 2014 Bicep continued where they left off with another three track EP released on Aus in May which leant more towards their techno side. Also around this time, their Essential Mix aired on BBC Radio One and was shortlisted as one of four best essential mixes of 2015. They also had standout sets with their We Love Residency at Space in Ibiza and closing the Yuma tent at Coachella.
They’ve just finished a programme of guests such as Derrick May, Andrew Weatherall and 30+ more across the 13 week series. Other Feel My Bicep 2015 parties have included their first stateside event in LA, which took place in March, and an Off Sonar party in Barcelona with DJ Harvey in conjunction with Frankfurt’s Live at Robert Johnson in June. Thankfully they’ve managed to find time to fit Wellington into their incredibly busy schedule, and help celebrate Strange Behaviour’s first birthday.
