The Bonnie C are a group of old friends who’ve been living together around Auckland, New Zealand over the last few years. Inspired by bands like Mazzy Star, Yo La Tengo and Widowspeak, they spent a Lyttelton winter recording their self-titled EP.
They bring together the spacious sounds of echoing voices and pedal steel guitar. Subjects appear as lingering images, opaque and distilled, carried by sparse words and notes.
Their E.P release show is on the 10th of March at The Wine Cellar joined with special guests The Naenae Express. Doors open at 8 pm. $10 door sales.
