Appearing on over 30 jazz albums to date, New Zealand saxophonist and composer Roger Manins is one of Australasia’s greatest jazz legends. After moving to Sydney to expand his jazz horizons, he then ventured to New York, and promptly became immersed in the beating heart of NYC’s vibrant and definitive jazz scene.
Performing a set of hard-swinging traditional jazz that stretches and morphs into the colours of modern compositions, grooves and ballads, this trio has the ability to unite generations of jazz lovers: from Parker to Coltrane, Pres to Lovano, the Roger Manins Trio - including long-time collaborator Reuben Bradley (Drums) and Nick Tipping (Double Bass) - deliver the goods with style, power and an abundance of class.
