Wellingtons HEX are the heavy triumvirate of Liz Mathews (Evil, The Hairdos) and hoa wahine GG and Kiki Van Newtown (Newtown, Pseudorobustus). Birthed from a musical lineage that spans folk to punk to metal to recorder orchestras, these three sisters reflect the chaos approaching post-capitalism. HEX is the three of cups and the ten of cups. CALLING TO THE UNIVERSE will be their first grown-up release, and is the prelude to their first full length album which is due out in November 2016.
Shore core slob goths Civil Union are probably the cosmic offspring of Robert Smith and Graeme Downes and are behind some very intensely talked about shows over recent times. They are set to release their debut LP Seasick, Lovedrunk on May 23 via Melted Ice Cream.
