Wellington Jazz Club presents *Liberty Swing Band: Jazz from the 30s and 40s*, preceded by *Phlat 9 Friday: winners of the NZSM Combo Competition*
Wellington Jazz Club's November gig on Sunday 20 November @ Meow Event Venue will feature *The Liberty Swing Band*, an 18 piece band based on the best of the big bands of the 30s and 40s, playing their standards we all know and love. Noted broadcaster Ian Johnstone will MC the gig, and jazz vocalist Jo-Anne Gibbs will be backed by a lively and experienced big band. Hope to see you there ! From 5pm to 7pm.
Our support band will be *Phlat 9 Friday*, the 5 piece winning group from the NZSM Combo Competition, playing a more contemporary mix. Vocalist Katelin Little will be backed by guitar, piano, bass and drums. Come along early to enjoy and encourage these enthusiastic and talented young jazz musicians, from 4pm to 4.50pm.
Meals and drinks may be purchased during the gig.
