In this special event, 13 talented young music makers from across Auckland city showcase the work they've created as part of Auckland Museum's Rock It Music Mentoring Programme.
The programme ran from the 10-14th of November, in conjunction with the Volume: Making Music in Aotearoa exhibition, and worked with a diverse talented and passionate bunch of young people from across Auckland to develop their passion for music.
This Saturday the participants will perform the work they have put together with the help of their mentors during the programme. Each performance has been carefully crafted from the artists' own experience and passion with the help of popular music makers SPYCC & INF, JAMAL and SMOKEYGOTBEATZ of SWIDT, Cam & Swap of Yoko-Zuna, singer-songwriter Josie Clarke and our ‘Living legends’ guest speakers every morning of the programme.
Each participant had an opportunity to walk through the Volume exhibition to get inspired to make music.
Come and enjoy these special performances in the Atrium at Auckland Museum from 11am-1pm!
