Three years on from their infamous 2014 Wellington Jazz Festival session at Meow, The Troubles’ bandleader John Rae returns to where the story became myth. Whisky was consumed, pianos were set on fire, there were bar fights, local jazz masters like Lucien Johnson and alt country rockers Mumford & Sons joined the band, and politicians and dignitaries watched on. And let's not forget the night of a lone loaned goat … The ruckus returned to Meow for the 2016 Wellington Jazz Festival, recording The Trouble’s live album 'Kapow!! Live at the Wellington Jazz Festival 2016' to be launched tonight!
Presented in association with Seresin.
Wellington Jazz Festival is on from June 7-11.
