As the grande finale of the NZ Poetry Conference and Festival, The Literatti presents: 'One Night in Shanghai' an immersive journey into Beatspeak amongst the opulent surroundings of Shanghai Lil's.
Transport yourself to a time of sensuality featuring pioneering Theater/Poetry/Music troupe The Literatti reforming for this one off, extraordinary show and 'Him' a mad-shaped curation by Australian artist, Jazmine Rose, who draws upon elements of the visionary to create a stunning, experimental work that shifts and unravels mid-performance, in a visceral and often haunting way.
The evening will be woven together by NZ's premier Wordcore band Freaky Meat combining elements of Jazz/Funk and rock with vocal styles inspired by Jack Kerouac, Tom Waits and Captain Beefheart.
