Chelsea Jade

Chelsea Jade is an art school dropout from Auckland.
After realising the crude sound and performance work she was making could be applied to the pop song structure she had grown up adoring, Chelsea took off to New York to forge a more fortified music path. After several trips gathering field recordings and delving into the craft of songwriting, Chelsea began performing as Watercolours, casting her friends as bandmates. Since then, she has released two EPs – one under her Watercolours moniker, and the follow-up under her own name, Chelsea Jade. She was awarded 2012’s Critics Choice prize at the VNZMAs, found a coveted place at Red Bull Music Academy as it sailed through Tokyo, and has since relocated to LA, the pop mecca she had been fantasising about. Her debut record Personal Best will be released in 2018.

SoccerPractise

Auckland-based SoccerPractise have performed extensively around New Zealand, opening for the likes of Aldous Harding and Deradoorian (US), paying tribute to Maori music legend Moana Maniapoto at the APRA Silver Scrolls ceremony, and making appearances at Oro Festival, Splore, Auckland Arts Festival, and Vice, effortlessly winning over crowds along the way. SoccerPractise reference and develop the rich histories of 90s IDM and UK trip-hop/downbeat, blending these influences with te reo Maori and English-language vocals from frontwoman Geneva Alexander-Marsters, and experimental projections from visual artist Kim Newall.
