Gig Information

International trobadour Andrew White weaves more of his magic in the intimate setting of Ponsoby's Iconic Cafe One2One.

A master of finger style guitar and lauded by both international critics and artists alike, White performs tracks from a back catalogue of 16 albums and also showcasing material from his forthcoming album 'Where the Wild Wind Moans'.

Andrew's music has been described as a road map of the experiences of a musical life coupled with guitar technique that has left thousands of people breathless.
While technically brilliant, his guitar work is not just out to impress - it has a pleasing, highly melodic structure. Andrew White is one of the few who combine international class guitar playing with skilfully crafted and beautiful songs. A humble and gifted musician, Andrew’s music will take you on a spiritual journey over the mountains and rivers of his soul.

“White’s style is a unique, soulful mix, and his guitar playing is extraordinary. -Rambles Art Magazine, U.K.

“White is one of those few blessed individuals who combines international-class finger-style guitar playing with great vocals and superb song- writing.” - Ian Melrose (Clannad)

Andrew is a magical writer, listen to him with your heart.” - Tommy Emmanuel C.G.P.

“It is no stretch at all to describe Andrew White as the Art Tatum of the guitar.” – Stephen Pederson, Chronicle Herald

Andrew is a truly talented individual. His unique guitar style is a treat to the ears and his melodies and lyrics are infectious.” – Pam Sheyne (Songwriter “Genie in a Bottle” – Christina Aguilera

‘Beautifully constructed guitar compositions that will not only inspire other musicians but also embrace the general listener in a warm glow…an aural palate you would associate with a Van Gogh.’- Fyfe on Folk, UK

‘Whether picking out a dainty traditional melody, tearing into a dirty blues workout, or artfully backing his tautly worded songs, his playing is continually embellished with layers of complementing nuance, both harmonic and textural, his singing is reminiscent of Sting at his darkly evocative best, only with a slightly hoarser, dustier edge.’ - The Scotsman UK
