Slow Note is a brand new all-ages arts festival happening in halls & backyards across Te Upoko o te Ika a Maui (Wellington), 26-28 April. With a kaupapa of promoting kōrero between artists and audience, Slow Note hopes to unite rather than divide, and inspire rather than dissuade.
The diverse selection of performers are known for placing emotion at the forefront of their work while simultaneously offering social commentary and political discourse in a more palatable form. Highlights over the three days include: i.e. crazy’s gothic folklore, the intractable guitars of milk, and emo forerunners Carb on Carb.
Homely and humble spaces have been chosen to temper the division between artist and attendee that is the norm at commercial gigs in formal venues. Slow Note intends to inspire growth and creativity while offering a wholesome and memorable experience for everyone involved.
