Indie folk singer and songwriter Claudia Jardine is delighted to announce her first headline show with support from fruit juice parade and Ingrid & The Ministers.
Celebrating the release of her crowdfunded debut (available 3rd May 2019), Jardine will be playing a solo set featuring the five songs on the ‘North EP’ and new material. Drawing inspiration from artists like Florence + The Machine, St. Vincent and Joni Mitchell, the EP features flexes of pop from a folky foundation of acoustic guitar. Lyrically, the release is a marriage of sentimentality and curiosity, expressed in the direct diction which has already marked Jardine as a poet to watch.
Much like the nymph of a cicada, Jardine has been burrowed in the earth for several years, shedding her skin, growing bigger and getting “ready”. Playing live since ’11, she has already collected national awards for song writing from Smokefreerockquest and Battle of the Bands and supported hard-working acts such as Two Cartoons, Doprah and Nadia Reid. What comes next? Fingers crossed, a longer lifespan than an adult cicada.
Jardine is especially pleased to be sharing Meow’s stage with fruit juice parade, two of Palmy North’s most endearing emos, and Ingrid & The Ministers, much loved psychedelic frockers.
