Gig Information

With the recent relaxing of Covid-19 restrictions our much loved music venues are starting to open up - and they need our support to get back on their feet and live music humming again. Which is why we're excited to announce an intimate seated show at SAN FRAN for Saturday 20 June featuring ethereal dream-pop band French for Rabbits and special guest Ebony Lamb.

The show is limited to 100 seats, and the venue will be following health & safety guidelines so that you can enjoy a relaxing evening out. Due to the limited seating numbers, we recommend getting in quick to secure your tickets.

ABOUT THE ACTS

Wellington indie-mainstays French for Rabbits have garnered a reputation for creating cinematic but intimate dream-pop, washes of atmosphere and cool, delicate vocals.

French for Rabbits features vocalist Brooke Singer and guitarist John Fitzgerald alongside Ben Lemi (Trinity Roots, Dawn Diver), Hikurangi Schaverien-Kaa (Dawn Diver, Stellarize) and Penelope Esplin (Grawlixes). The band, who toured extensively through the US in 2019, have their feet firmly on NZ soil for the foreseeable future, working on their third full-length record. The past six months have seen them release three stand-alone singles, including 'The Tunnel' which was written and recorded during lock-down (and released alongside a beautiful video made from recycled and new footage by Martin Sagadin).

Honey voiced singer-songwriter Ebony Lamb has earned an enviable reputation amongst her contemporaries and music fans alike. Ebony has three critically acclaimed studio albums under her belt (released through her band Eb & Sparrow) and a touring legacy the country over. Showcasing unforgettable performances, she has taken folk-alt-country to a whole new level, earning finalist positions for both album and song at the NZ Country Music Awards 2016.

Sewn into a unique tapestry of poetic songwriting and dynamic delivery, Ebony’s increasingly diverse sound sits somewhere between Nina Simone and Gillian Welch with a glimmering of Cat Power.
