Dunedin based jazz pianist Bill Martin tours Wellington and surrounds for the first time in 2020 to perform a number of original compositions with an all star band comprised of top musicians from Wellington and Dunedin. Martin directs a Big Band in Dunedin and for this gig will present original compositions arranged for a three piece horn section. Teaming up with long term collaborator, Geoff Culverwell, a trumpet player and vocalist well-known to local audiences, this group also draws on the talents of alto saxophonist Nick Cornish from Dunedin and Nick Van Djik from Wellington. The full sextet is rounded out with Bill on piano, Paul Dyne on bass and Mike Jensen on drums.
