Tom's songs speak of dirt roads, wild dogs and burning blood. The sound fuses 60s folk with classical piano and occasionally throws in some art-rock for good measure. Tom Cunliffe has been touring for a decade, taking his lilting voice and crafted lyrics to places as diverse as London, Oamaru, Barcelona, Takaka, Auckland, Wellington, Berlin and the rolling wheat fields of southern Italy.
He’s toured with the likes of Reb Fountain & Delaney Davidson, and recorded with The Yarra Benders (better known as Marlon Williams’ band). The two full length albums currently available at record stores will soon be joined by a third. The new project was recorded at the Lab in Mt Eden and produced by Tom and Dave Khan. It will be released later this year, but you can be one of the first to hear the new songs, live and in an intimate setting.
