The Pole Barn Presents: SoundWeavers Music Event

A community of singer-songwriters coming together to give you a magical evening!

Welcome to the Pole Barn!
A venue nestled in the Motueka Valley; it is a private residence, where there is a vision held of community, sharing music, workshops and events that bring people together for a conscious experience.

Come join five amazing local artists in a house-concert style venue, in this organic valley setting.
SoundWeavers is an event supporting singer/songwriter artists, providing a space for these talented musicians to perform, and share, and also to bring these artists together; to create a shared event, an experience for the artists and audience. Starting at 2.30pm Saturday 23rd July

ANNIE ROSE BENTLEY is a singer-songwriter from Marahau, NZ. She plays guitar and ukulele and writes all her own songs and lyrics. She has been writing music in her own company for 6 years and is now beginning to find the power of sharing it. Her music is about reconnecting to the inner world, recognizing the patterns that we carry and transforming them through feeling deeply and acknowledging them.

COLM MC ENANEY is a multi-instrumentalist originally from Ireland who is now rooted in Golden Bay, NZ. He fuses the sounds of the hang drum, Irish flute and whistle, Peruvian flute, bansuri, guitar, vocals, and percussion with some live looping to create relaxing and trance-like soundscapes, soulful folk, and reggae songs, and sure, why not? Some traditional Irish music...

JOY IN THE SULKS is recording singer/songwriter Sukie Conley and instrumentalist John Gieryn. Together they create a positive, moving atmosphere that frees people into the present moment. With diverse instrumentation (acoustic, mandolin, trumpet, xylophone, etc.), sunlight pierces the gloom in their passionate blend of folk, alt-country, and Celtic music.

HILA KORAY originally from Israel, plays various music styles from Afro Brazilian grooves to electro-acoustic looping with earthy beats and native bush sounds. In her set, she combines beats and sounds from around the world in a fresh mixture with live instruments from Africa and beyond.

JAZZ LE BRETON, known in the performing world as Glowing Trees is a multi-instrumentalist, street performer, and DJ currently based in the Marahau Valley. Glowing Trees works with traditional instruments, primarily the medicine drum, Middle-Eastern drums, and Yidaki (didgeridoo), and has ventured through the DJ world, representing many shamanic and tribal-based genres mainly from South America. Jazz is extremely passionate about amplifying rhythms from the distant past, in this way he sees his DJing and composing not as creation, but as a translation from the echoes of the wisdom from those before us.

This musician-packed event is $20, you can buy your tickets online here at UTR. Limited door sales are available for $25. The money for this event will be going back to the artists, as this is an event to support our local musicians to keep doing what they do and WE love!

This will be an outdoor event, and there will be a fire to keep everyone warm, but please bring proper WARM clothes and blankets so we are all nice and cosy!

It is a great opportunity to bring a picnic dinner and enjoy the time here with a fire going and music playing. There will be hot drinks being sold at the venue; please bring a cup.

This is a private property, and your respect is appreciated. Children 13 and under are free of charge. This is a child-friendly event, bear in mind there is a road nearby and they will need to be under your supervision, please.

Car parking is at the bottom of Pineview Way. Walk 2 minutes up the road, following the signs.

We are all excited to see you here and share our creations.
See you all soon!
