'Seahorse Wedding' @ FLOAT WELL

Commissioned by Pyramid Club and composed by Kraus, 'Seahorse Wedding' is a 60 minute 'concept album' suite of electronic sounds. Using modular synths, Kraus' composition features beautiful bubble-like layers of floating melodies and whirlpools of swirling rhythms.

A very limited number of discounted tickets for 'Seahorse Wedding' will be available to book through Float Well on between Sunday 6th and Sunday 20th November. Please go to https://www.floatwell.co.nz/ and type the discount code KRAUS. 60 minute floats are usually priced at $105. Float Well are offering 10 discounted tickets for $75. NOTE: please check Float Well's entry policy on their site before purchasing tickets.

Kraus, who composed the piece specifically for isolated listening in Float Well's specially designed float tanks, travelled to Pōneke for several research float trips while creating the piece. He says the physical experience in the float tank is not one of floating so much as suspension in a void, sometimes to the point of feeling absolutely fixed at the centre of the universe. Floating can be an intense experience, so I wanted this music to be soothing and light. Hence the fantasy theme of a 'Seahorse Wedding', in a sandcastle abbey, with a crustacean celebrant, and a wedding-reception band of dolphins.

Local musician Erika Grant, who works at Float Well, strongly attests to both the physical and mental health benefits of floating. For me floating has been life changing says Erika. With the help of Kraus' music you’ll become weightless, senseless, you’ll drift through otherworldly crystalline structures and vast cosmic atmospheres, while you allow your body and mind to fully let go and become one with the music.

SPECIAL GIVEAWAY PRIZE… We have one free float to give away. If you would like to go into the draw to win a free 60min float to experience Kraus' 'Seahorse Wedding' please email admin@pyramidclub.org.nz before Saturday 5th Nov.
