ABOUT MICHAL MARTYNIUK
His latest release the Reconciliation EP was released on Unreliable’s parent label Bigpop Records in June 2021. The five-track EP started life in 2020 with Polish-based producer Adam Kabcinski and Michal laying the foundations of the songs. London don Mike Patto and Kiwi legend Nathan Haines were engaged to complete the project, adding their inimitable production and mixdown magic to those initial recordings. The result is a fantastic - and truly global - collection. Full of dynamite neo-soul grooves ripe with classy keys, bubbling bass lines and infectious beats, Reconciliation brings fresh optimism for these crazy times, and represents a young musician exploring multiple genres and styles to deliver an outstanding body of music.
* In 2016 Michal released his debut album Odyssey under the After ‘Ours moniker (a collaboration with fellow producer Nick Williams). Combining jazz with club and electronic music, it features heavyweight contributions from the likes of Sharlene Hector, Kevin Mark Trail, Matt Nanai and Haines.
* In 2018 he released his second album, Nothing To Prove, highlighting his mastery at the piano and came second at the prestigious Made In New York jazz competition.
* In 2019 Michal was nominated for the Fryderyk 2019 - Jazz Discovery Of The Year award.
