Cult DIY troubadour Ceschi surprises Aotearoa by popping over for one night only at Tamaki Makuras Newest venue, The Mothership!
The crème de la crème of genre-bending artists has been wowing audiences Sydney, Adelaide, Hobart, Perth, and Melbourne, and now its our turn! For one lucky night he’s taking a break from Australia to Play his first ever Show in Aotearoa!
American folk-rap artist for the barely alive Ceschi (pronounced chess-key) will be returning to Australia for the first time in over ten years. The tour will kick off in Sydney on November 24, and take to Adelaide, Hobart for a headline slot at HOBOFOPO, Perth, and Melbourne for two shows, before returning to Sydney on December 4, and then a surprise end in Tamaki Makura on the 6th of December.
This will be the cult DIY troubadour’s last solo tour for a while before he focuses on a new band called Codefendants featuring members of Get Dead and Fat Mike from NOFX.
The American hip-hop musician, singer and songwriter’s music was born out of the worlds of underground Hip Hop, Hardcore Punk and Folk. His version of songwriting may include machine-gun-speed raps or emotive ballads inspired by Latin American troubadours. Over the last decade, he has toured North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. Although it’s difficult to describe the type of music that Ceschi makes, it is not difficult to feel the ferocious heart that is behind it all.
The tour arrives off the back of his latest single, ‘This & That’ featuring Tsoh Tso, his first taste of new music since his 2021 album This Guitar Was Stolen Along With Years of Our Lives. The album is filled with 10 tracks of guitar-inspired songs and signals a departure of sorts, distanced from his most recent work, releases geared more toward Hip Hop culture.
Ceschi will be supported by Wellingtons famous farm emo/ chaotic troubadours Departure Party, Auckland big guns the Murderchord, and as a treat, Ukraines Vikae will be rounding out the eclectic but fabulous night!
