The Ministry of Folk is pleased to present Scott Cook, Albi and Hoop - all performing on the beautiful rooftop at Movespace, Dominion Road. Come along and enjoy the music and a BYO drink as you take in the stunning views of the sun setting over the distant Waitakeres.
We're excited to have Scott Cook jetting in from his home country of Canada where he has won numerous folk music awards. He'll be playing tracks from his latest five star album Tangle of Souls. He sings his heart and soul, and in doing so, lets light flood into your own... He has a good eye for imagery, a gentle human touch, a wry sense of humour, a whole lot of integrity, a warm, rugged voice and a bunch of memorable lines... Truly one of Woody Guthrie's children. – RnR Magazine
Albi is known and loved by everyone in New Zealand folk circles as the front man of Albi and the Wolves - previous winners of best folk artist at the Aotearoa Music Awards. His distinctive guitar playing and soulful voice melt together perfectly to bring his songs to life.
Hoop are the house band at Ministry of Folk and will be cooking up a mix of brand new original songs and old favourites featuring tight vocal harmonies, banjo, fiddle, bass and percussion.
