Aotearoa's favourite country band The Warratahs are swinging by Paekākāriki to play at one of their favourite venues, St Peters Village Hall. 30-odd years of rocking the house has only sharpened their edge when it comes to getting people on their feet to dance.
Formed by singer-songwriter Barry Saunders in Mt. Victoria, Wellington, in 1987, The Warratahs play a hybrid of country, soul and folk music with a dose of 50s rock n roll and in the process, created a style that is all their own.
With seven albums (and several solo Saunders ones) under their belt and new songs in the works, the band have toured extensively around the country and Australia.
The Warratahs are Barry Saunders, Nik Brown, Alan Norman, Nick Theobald, and new member Caroline Easther who replaces the late Mike Knapp.
