Nathan Haines is an internationally recognised producer and musician with a huge body of work, and this summer in New Zealand he returns to his dance music and DJ roots.
Nathan started DJ’ing in the late 90’s in the UK, and his DJ sets bring his wealth of passion and knowledge of dance music, jazz, disco and house into one high energy set.
Known worldwide as one of the most distinctive and recognisable saxophonists of his generation, Nathan’s DJ sets feature him playing live over his own productions and those of his many producer and musician friends. Recent collaborations include the massive Emotional Intelligence and the recent Sirena Deep with UK based duo Chaos in the CBD, New Zealand’s Flamingo Pier, plus recent co-productions and appearances with NZ’s Frank Booker with releases on New York dance label Razor and Tape.
Nathan’s musical DNA goes from Jazz to House and even Drum and Bass - his latest release in 2023 under his Sci-Clone moniker on UK label Metalheadz (Radio Therapy) garnered rave reviews in the international music press.
Nathan’s new album “Notes”, due for release in 2024 on Loop Recordings with international releases planned for UK/Europe, North America and Japan, is his 11th solo album and was started around 4 years ago when Nathan reached out to his friend Phil Asher and the pair started working together again after a 16 year hiatus. Their last album was the Gold selling classic Squire For Hire (2003). Sadly Phil passed away very suddenly two years ago and Nathan was tasked with finishing the album with many of his and Phil’s close friends and musicians. The final result is a classic in the mould of the best work that Phil and Nathan have produced together, cementing their partnership as true originals of the dance music scene.

The Upswing starts at 7pm with our resident selector Dan Solar (AKA Dan Clark), a long serving DJ for many of Nathan’s events over the years. The Squire hits the decks around 9pm. If you value quality music, this event is not to be missed!
