Tāmaki Makarau janglers Cowboy Dan are hitting the road to celebrate the recent vinyl release of their Two Eps: We Will Hesitate, When We Eventually Wake / Sentimental Now That We're Leaving. What better way to sign off this leg of the tour than a FREE afternoon show at the wonderfully delicious Shining Peak Brewing?!?
Aptly described at some point as ‘like The Bats on just the right amount of red bull’, Cowboy Dan continues the great New Zealand tradition of jangly, happy-sad music. Chiming guitars, upbeat rhythms, and poignant lyrics are at the forefront as they craft their unique brand of alternative jangle rock. Since forming in 2015, the Tāmaki Makaurau four-piece have made their mark on the Auckland indie scene as an energetic and engaging live act not to miss.
Support at this special show from Ngāmotu/ New Plymouth based maker of experimental music Kitset Empire. Their warm guitar-driven ambient soundscapes will kick things off at 3pm, followed by two sets from Cowboy Dan taking things through until 6pm.
Cowboy Dan is a well-established band with appearances on RNZ Live, 13th Floor sessions, Borderline Festival, playing with legends like Jordan Luck (The Exponents) and Matthew Bannister (Sneaky Feelings) and countless dance-inducing local gigs. Come on out, experience something new and relish these fresh and engaging Aotearoa bands.
Free entry! Records available for purchase too ($40). Bring ya pals.
