Another cracker lineup for the 19 May Songwriters’ Showcase at Moon. We shall have: Emily de Vegt, Poropiti Rangitaawa, Catherine Bullock and Dirty Spoons
Emily de Vegt - Emily de Vegt plays dreamy, mellow songs influenced by her roots in classical piano. Originally from Taranaki, Emily is delighted to bring her little love songs to the big city.
Poropiti Rangitaawa - Multi – instrumentalist from Ngā Taonga Pūoro to Contemporary instruments (woodwind, brass, guitar etc.) I’m a Gospel & Contemporary song writer and ex- session musician from country, rock, reggae, jazz etc. I’ve been a musical prostitute all my life from reading fly shit on paper to improvisation on the spot which has taken me around most countries. It's been a privilege backing other people’s musical idea’s and now it’s my turn to play and share my story book in te reo māori and english.
Catherine Bullock - Infusing folk with indie-pop melodies and alternative lyrics, Catherine Bullock is a Pōneke/Wellington based singer-songwriter destined to become your next favourite solo act. She has been writing songs since she was 11, writing about growing up, relationships of all sorts, and learning to love life.
Dirty Spoons - Dirty Spoons don’t care where it’s been. They’ll stir in country, pop, and indie rock to make songs a bit like miniskirts, you know, short enough to keep your attention but long enough to cover the essentials: death, fishing, internet dating, lost dogs, goblins in trees…
