Come along to hear Marianne Wren and her band play a selection of beautiful tunes from her new EP, Sand & Soil, with support from Summer Henderwood.
Marianne Wren is a Pōneke-based singer-songwriter whose sound is constantly evolving. Her debut EP, Maybe It Was Golden, was centred on soaring melodies, complemented by the spacious indie sounds produced by her band.
Her upcoming EP, Sand & Soil, is set for release in May. In this EP Marianne embraces a more stripped-back direction. Her new music puts focus on her heart-piercing, honest lyrics, and a more vocally intimate sound. Marianne is excited to share her new creation with a talented group of musicians backing her up.
Joining to open the gig is Summer Henderwood, a dream pop singer-songwriter from Wellington. Summer's sun-kissed melodies come from a stirring of emotion and imagination. After releasing her debut single, drive, Summer has been active in the Wellington music scene, including opening for Jon Toogood on the Lower North Island part of his Last of the Lonely Gods tour.
