Taking place at 3pm in the heart of West Auckland, this special afternoon event brings together a stunning lineup of acclaimed New Zealand musicians for a performance that honours Matariki through sound and storytelling.
Featuring a diverse mix of genre-bending talent, the concert includes performances by:
Dixon Nacey – one of Aotearoa’s premier jazz guitarists, whose virtuosity and improvisational style captivate audiences every time.
Carnivorous Plant Society – known for their cinematic soundscapes and wildly inventive instrumentation, they bring a playful, visual element to their performance.
Ra Charmian – weaving soulful vocals and rich harmonies into original compositions that speak to identity and connection.
Dave Parker – Former frontman of The Parker Project, whose 1991 cover of “Tears on My Pillow” topped the New Zealand charts, and founding member of the acclaimed ukulele trio The Nukes. Parker brings a rich musical legacy and engaging stage presence to the Matariki celebration.
