Montreal-based trumpeter Lex French reunites with his original Wellington quartet for the first time in nearly 10 years.

The band will revisit favourite jazz standards and tackle new originals from Lex.
Lex has been hailed by Downbeat magazine as an “evolving genius.” He is a bright star on the Canadian jazz scene, and is currently touring with the Oscar Peterson Centennial Quartet. He is also a highly in-demand composer, arranger, and educator and currently teaches jazz composition, pedagogy, jazz orchestra and trumpet at McGill University in Montreal.
His most recent album In the World’s First Summer won a silver medal in the International Trumpet Guild’s inaugural recording awards, where other finalists included Terrell Stafford and Dave Douglas.
