We have another wonderful line-up for The Ministry of Folk in September
Bring your own drinks and snacks, grab a table and settle down for a night of magic.
We are very excited to welcome Roughtown who are true legends in the New Zealand folk scene and comprised of multi-instrumentalists Tim Chia, Caleb Chia, Adam Ogle and Emily Roughton. They grew up making music together socially and over the years have won numerous awards for their playing. They have performed at festivals all over Aotearoa and overseas and will be sure to thrill us with their fresh and vibrant high-energy trad folk arrangements. Not to be missed!
MOF is also delighted to welcome Miriam McCombe - a musician and songwriter originally from Bath, UK. Her music combines folky, lilting melodies and funky grooves, balancing waves of sadness with lyrical silliness. She released her debut EP ‘Weightless’ in 2023 and is happily gigging with her super-talented band of local indie musicians Tom, Chelsea, Callum & Geoff.
As usual, your hosts Hoop will start off proceedings with their unique blend of folk and pop. Expect to hear some sweet harmonies, fiddle, banjo as they showcase a batch of brand new songs.
All profit goes to the guest musicians and our last few MOFs have been sell-outs, so be sure to grab your tickets while you can.
