Drunken Piano, Banished Music and The Others Way festival are hyped to announce a huge debut NZ appearance on Friday 28th November 2025 for Canada’s Saya Gray at Wellington’s stunning Meow NUI.
Support comes from UK producer DJ Karen Nyame KG and Te Whanganui-a-Tara local artist Mā.
Taking the stage in Wellington ahead of her Others Way Festival appearance the next night, Saya Gray will be performing material from her excellent record released earlier this year SAYA.
Saya Gray has earned a reputation for electric, hypnotic live performances, leaping between instruments and genres, beguiling and entrancing her audiences.
“The alt-pop experimentalist delivered a mesmerizing, emotional performance with a triumphant sense of self” – Range Magazine
Sharing the Meow Nui stage with Saya is UK DJ, producer, vocalist Karen Nyame KG.
“Channeling a deeply rooted attachment to the African diaspora, KG’s innovative and percussive assemblage of dance music spanned amapiano, afrobeats, uk funky, gqom and beyond.” – Resident Advisor
Rounding out the evening is local artist Mā. With their second album “Blame It On The Weather” being released earlier this year, Mā told RNZ “I’d rather talk about how we can move forward, how we can evolve, how we can work together better”.
