VELVET JUNGLE presents: UltraViolet ScrapHeap and Yellow Rooms are teaming up for a night fuzzy leads and acoustic strings at the Pow Wow Room on Saturday 6 September, with support from singer/songwriter duo Yarns.
UVSH combines fast-fills, bluesy licks and lush melodies to serve up a blend of modal jazzy rock and slushy punk. Cooking up the sound of public sector cuts drenched in a Hazy IPA, this four-piece will sends ya swaying into the unseen void in one moment, only to pull you head first back into the blistering mosh in the next.
Yellow Rooms is Pōneke-based sister duo Sarah and Grace Lawrence. The sisters swap between violin, guitar, keys and vocals on songs that are both soulful and witty, and are taking their songs to new heights with the backing of a full band. Look out for their new release ‘Cool’ in the coming months!
Yarns is a collaboration of shit chat between songwriters Katelyn Henshall and Finn Hurley. Inspired by their drive to make it out of the hood, the two write absolute gut wrenching bummers showcasing a fusion of their trashy rnb and acoustic emo influences.
