Saxophonist Frank Talbot presents: The Franktastic Four Plus More!
Frank Talbot’s Franktastic Four joins with the keyboard prowess of Miles Boermans for a unique sonic treat. Bringing their trademark energy, humour and virtuosity the group will present a variety of original compositions and arrangements, featuring works from Talbot’s Rattle Album “Mundane Life Updates”, from his EP “Speed Rat”, from the group’s “Heavy Bop” shows as well as other fresh music.
Frank Talbot has already led a wide and varied performance career. He has been a member of the Rodger Fox Big Band, Royal New Zealand Air Force, JM Jazz World Orchestra, Queen City Big Band, Julie Lamb Outfit, Bohemian Thought and the Magnificents as well as a number of his own groups who have toured all through the country. He’s performed in New Zealand, USA, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Macedonia and Bulgaria with various ensembles. He currently resides in Auckland where he teaches music and directs ensembles at a number of high schools as well as at the University of Auckland.
