The first Carmichael appearance of spring, and you’re invited! Heralding baby lambs, blossoming daffodils, and iced oat lattes, Carmichael is back to play some more music and have even more fun.
Carmichael is a six-piece jazz ensemble, based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara. Born from the darkest depths of jazz school, Carmichael was formed by a bunch of friends to make music that’s danceable as heck and have a good time doing it together.
Inspired by different global groove-driven collectives, such as Kokoroko, Ezra Collective, Nubiyan Twist & Fat Freddy’s Drop, their music blends elements of afrobeat, neo-soul and jazz fusion.
