Melbourne-based Aotearoa artist and songwriter Sam Bambery plays with full band at Nice Goblins alongside Awning and Holly Kimber (North Island debut).
Sam Bambery is an artist and impresario from Ōtautahi/Christchurch, currently based in Naarm/Melbourne. Exploring his love of semi-psychedelia through a twisted folk-rock lens, Bambery writes effectual and spacious songs burrowing into emotional identity and exhaustion. His sophomore album Rubricator released in 2024 with micro-label Under Underground Records, edging at outsider-pop influence.
...very considered, like Bambery lived with the album in his head for a while before bringing it into the world...a hint of mystery hangs over things...it's as ornate as these well-crafted tunes - Tony Stamp, Radio New Zealand
Rubricator confirms the emergence of a real talent - Graham Reid, NZ Listener
